In this edition of our monthly column we present some interesting festival- and funding options whose submission deadlines are all in April. Have a look!
Finding your way
As a filmmaker, two things are very important: making films, obtaining funding and showing the film to the rest of the world out there! Around the globe there are so many great festivals and events that it is easy to lose track of what is happening. Among everything that is going on, it can be difficult to realistically assess which festival is the right one for your film.
Because of that CineSud Magazine started publishing monthly articles with the most interesting and promising international film festivals that you can submit to the following months. Next to that we give an overview of interesting funding options in the heart of the Netherlands, Belgium as well as Germany.
Film Festivals
DocFest - San Francisco Documentary Festival
Submission deadline: April 10 Festival dates: June 3 - June 17
SF Indiefest is a year-round, non-profit organization that has been operating since 1998. They present four annual festivals: the SF Independent Film Festival (SF Indie for short), the SF Documentary Festival (DocFest for short), the SF Independent Short Film Festival (IndieShorts) and Another Hole in the Head, their genre film festival. Dallas International Film Festival
Submission deadline: April 26 Festival dates: June 25 - July 2

Laterale Film Festival
Submission deadline: April 30 Festival dates: September 27 - September 29
Laterale is an international non competitive Festival of cinematic art. Its aim is to enhance the most innovative aspects of audio-visual languages of the contemporary scene and to reduce the distance between artistic research and public involvement.
