Would you like to work thoroughly on your short film script, develop a film plan, both artistically and professionally? Submit your project and become a part of a first international Writers Room! Eight filmmakers from different countries will be selected to develop their films in group sessions with the coaches. Don't hesitate and submit to be one of them!
Writers Room & Bootcamp Shorts Lab 2021 is organised by CineSud together with Screen Talent Europe.
Writers Room
During the Writers Room you will be working on your short film in a group session with coaches Mikael Bundsen or Alexe Landgren (eight filmmakers will be selected, each coach will work with four participants). To apply you already need to have a first draft of a script in English. The sessions will be held in English.

- Writers Room Session 3: November 27 - 10:30-15:30
Would you like your project to be selected to the Writers Room? Participation in these Writers Room is limited to eight talents of Screen Talent Europe partners. Your application will be assessed by the partner from your region/country. Please fill in the application form below. We will preselect the scripts and inform chosen projects at latest September 1. If your project is selected, you will as well get free access to all Bootcamp Shorts Lab masterclasses.

Bootcamp Shorts Lab
If your project is selected, you can join all the masterclasses of Bootcamp Shorts Lab for free! Bootcamp Shorts Lab is a 3-day online training program where you can develop your skills, work on your next (short film) project and earn everything from script development to the creative aspects of editing, sound and film distribution.

Coaches will be - amongst others - Manuel Alberto Claro (director of photography Nymphomaniac, The House that Jack Built), producer Eliza Jones (whose short films were in competition at Festival de Cannes, Tribeca, TIFF, etc.), director Birgitte Stærmose (Crystal Bear winner Berlinale) and sound designer/-mixer Peter Albrechtsen (Dunkirk, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo).
Meet the coaches!
Alexe Landgren
Alexe Landgren (Sweden) is a scriptwriter/director, educated at IHTV and Alma Manusutbildning. In 2017 she won Pixel Talent Award, one of the biggest short film prizes in Sweden, and Lust, the short made with the prize money, premiered at Palm Springs ShortFest 2019. She’s currently in pre-production with her feature debut, Lykke Post Partum, and also co-writing two other features. Alexe tends to work with drama, subtle humor and female perspectives.
Mikael Bundsen
Mikael Bundsen (Sweden) is a screenwriter and director whose short Mother Knows Best premiered at the Berlinale in 2016 and went on to screen at 40 festivals worldwide, winning a number of awards. His latest short Involuntary Activist premiered in 2019 and went on to screen at festivals worldwide and air on BBC and Swedish Public Television. It was nominated for a BAFTA Cymru Award for Best short. Apart from writing screenplays for film and TV and directing shorts, Bundsen works as a script consultant and a screenwriting teacher.

Bootcamp Shorts Lab 2021 is a unique online training program organised by CineSud together with our dear partners of Screen Talent Europe: VGR Filmcloud, FILMVÆRKSTEDET/KØBENHAVN, Odense Filmværksted, Film i Skåne, Galway Film Centre, New Noardic Wave, Film Stockholm, Filmwerkstatt Kiel and Mediefabrikken.
Screen Talent Europe is a network of film workshops and media centers in Europe. The purpose of the network is to promote and foster co-operation between partners, help filmmakers exchange knowledge, experiences and methods through talent camps, network meetings and co-productions. The network collaborates to produce international talent development projects such as pitching forums, film production camps, networking and social events. Furthermore, Screen Talent Europe works to strengthen the workshop model for support-based talent development and also assists countries in Europe currently without film workshops in developing similar resources and models.
